"Well I think that there are sort of two different groups of players that I am addressing that will get different things out of the game. If you look at people who don’t suffer from depression and aren’t familiar with what it is like, then I am hoping that they will gain some insight, some understanding into what struggling with mental illness is like. I think its something that is misunderstood and there is a stigma associated with it–I really hope that through the game I will be able to show people what mental illness is like and they will gain a new understanding.
I also think that our game is good for those who have actually experienced mental illness. Even today, people who suffer from mental illness have told me that the game connected with them. That is encouraging because, at least in my own personal experience dealing with depression, you feel alone and you feel like no one has ever felt this way and it is just this complete desolation and so I hope that the game will connect with people and make them realise that they are not alone in their suffering.
